Ubisoft x Matchaya | Matcha appreciation & Wellness workshop

The Assassin's Creed series has a notable connection to Japan through its historical settings and elements that incorporate Japanese culture. While the core franchise spans various historical periods and regions, it has touched upon Japan's rich history and samurai culture in several ways.

Kyoto, one of the regions featured in the game, stood out as a cultural hub to delve deeper into traditional Japanese aesthetics.

As players journey through the immersive world, they explore spectacular castle towns, bustling ports, peaceful shrines, and war-ravaged landscapes, all while navigating unpredictable weather and changing seasons that influence their adventure.

KOLs from Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam recently experienced a Japanese-themed game launch event for Assassin's Creed Shadows, where they explored the captivating open world of Feudal Japan.
To further resonate with Japanese culture, the event incorporated a matcha appreciation workshop, aligning with the game’s portrayal of samurai warriors, special outfits, weapons, and missions inspired by feudal Japan.
During the workshop, we shared insights on the importance and high value of ceremonial-grade matcha, highlighting that it was once served to esteemed guests during Chado, the Japanese tea ceremony.
Many enjoyed the process of making their own ceremonial-grade matcha the most, learning to appreciate its delicate preparation.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to bring this workshop and game experience together, giving the participants a deeper understanding of Japanese culture, from samurai warriors to the peaceful, meticulous art of tea.
