Emporium Pluit Indonesia | #4 Grand Opening

North Jakarta marks the fourth chapter in our ongoing exploration of space, ritual, and tea.
Located at the entrance of Emporium Pluit, this space sits within one of North Jakarta’s most established districts - a place shaped by daily rhythms of family life, work, and gathering. Its context informed the way we approached the store: open, grounded, and quietly present.

The space is anchored by a 360° Tea Bar, housed within a circular pavilion at the centre of the multi-storey atrium. Designed as both a functional core and a visual landmark, the pavilion draws the eye inward before lifting it upward, creating a sense of focus amidst movement.
Radial symmetry defines the architecture. Concentric rings repeat from the overhead light feature to the circular bar counter below, echoed once more in the surrounding guardrails above. These repetitions establish a visual rhythm - subtle, continuous, and intentional.

Preparation is central to the experience.
The curve of the bar choreographs our Tearistas’ movements, allowing each step to unfold fluidly rather than quickly. This pace invites trust, attention, and quiet curiosity - qualities we believe are essential to how tea should be experienced.
The grand opening was marked by a simple ceremony - a short address, ribbon cutting, and shared conversations over lunch and matcha.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this space to life.

Emporium Pluit is our fourth venture beyond Singapore in Indonesia. It is a space designed to be noticed without demanding attention, and one we hope becomes part of a familiar routine - returned to often, not rushed through.
